The jury meet for the Aces of Space Design Awards was all about intense discussions and dialogue between the designers, apart from some fun breaks in between the evaluation. The event took place on October 9th at the prestigious St.Regis Hotel, which was graced by the presence of the who’s who from the architecture and design fraternity.
There were 10 subcategories in both Architecture and Interior Design, and some special awards for the Student Thesis and Best National Young Designer. The diversity and good quality of work by the nominees generated serious discussions amongst the jurors and made it rather difficult for them to arrive at a consensus – but they finally did.
The jury meet brought in a lot of insight from the jurors about their expectations from the nominees in terms of the improvements in submissions that need to happen in the future.
The jurors were divided into five subgroups, and the specific nomination categories were judged by them according to the guidelines laid down (Originality, Visual Appeal, Craftsmanship, Function, Sustainability, Visionary thinking and Fulfilment of the client brief/projects) by the masters in the field.
After the evaluation of all the shortlisted entries, the jurors gave their inputs about what they thought was good and what could have been done better in this process.
