Adopting Eco-Friendly Techniques

One of the most sought-after wildlife holiday destinations in India, Kaziranga National park is the home for the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, the habitat is dense with elephant-grass meadows, swampy lagoons, and forests that receives high rainfall through the year. The project in Wildernest at Kaziranga included the designing and execution of single-room cottages that are sustainable and is reminiscent of old Assamese houses. It required the structure to be disassembled and fixed again as per the client's needs, without compromising the outlook that appeared to be a permanent construction-something which is unique and would attract customers to come and stay over at the cottages.

The functioning of each cottage was to ensure that the space came out to be unique and the walls not only act as partition members but also represent roofing for the structure. The structure is 480sq ft of built-up space and the height has been taken to be 4.8m from the centre of the triangle.

The structure consisted of mostly iron rectangular box sections to which Everest Fibre Cement Boards were screwed to give it the total finish and output.
