Deeply inspired by the Bauhaus movement, Art Deco and architecture, Leah Singh’s quest to reinvent and revive traditional Indian crafts is evident in her line of textiles. Initially starting offwith a collection of bone jewellery, she soon came up with the idea of reviving the ageold, traditional crafts of India in a contemporary context. Born to a Polish American father and an Indian mother, Singh’s childhood was divided between Delhi and New York, the two cities that she now spends her time in for work. We caught up with the designer for a brief tête-à-tête.
