For several years the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, commonly known as the Mooneyes Show due to Mooneyes owner Shige Suganumi being the principle promoter, has pursued a Keep Calm, Stay Cool theme as it faced closure due to the local community being disrupted by noise from the large crowds going to and leaving from the show. This approach worked and the show was able to continue, but everyone is aware of not reverting to the noisy ways, so that the show can continue well into the future. Hot rod and custom enthusiasts travel from all around the world to be part of this event, in fact 1900 of them according to the official Mooneyes website where they joined with 19,000 locals to see one of the best show spectacles in the world.<img src="https://magarticles.magzter.com/articles/10711/428659/5e7da593302a7/1585292576369.jpg"" owidth=377 oheight=267" style="width: 377px; height: 267px;" />For international visitors, even the setup day is a must and it concludes with a pre-party for everyone involved. When the doors opened at 8:00 am on December 1 there was a huge crowd waiting to spill into the Pacifico Exhibition Centre, right on the Yokohama waterfront. The show is one day only, so the activity level is frenetic all day long. The &ldquo;Ride-In&rdquo; starts at 9:00 am when the invited guests parade into the show in their special exhibit vehicles and the crowd mills 10 deep either side trying to get the best photos. Then each guest is interviewed and autograph signing follows.<img src="https://magarticles.magzter.com/articles/10711/428659/5e7da593302a7/1585292644983.jpg"" owidth=1120 oheight=483" style="width: 1120px; height: 483px;" />On the floor the show is divided up into various categories, this year including the Hot Wheels Collector Convention, the International Village vendor area, Scale Model section and Pinstripe Gallery.
