The Mini Urbanaut concept, which only recently went from digital rendering to physical show car, could enter series production from 2026 if the brand can meet the technical challenges of bringing such a radical vehicle to life.

A production version of the Urbanaut would provide Mini with a highly flexible rival to the forthcoming Volkswagen ID Buzz and Mercedes-Benz EQT electric MPVs.

The concept, which was displayed at the Munich motor show last week, is 4.5 metres long and was designed to show how flexible the interior of a semi-autonomous, flat-floored EV can be. Mini design boss Oliver
