Exclusive Henry Cole Interview
Bike SA|April 2018

Henry Cole is a world renowned British TV presenter and bike building evangelist, amongst numerous other things. He has ridden hundreds of bikes and has done many miles all over the world.

Exclusive Henry Cole Interview

Henry was recently back in South Africa filming season two of “World’s greatest motorcycle rides”. The trip would take 17 days, covering a distance of 2900km.

I had the privilege of meeting up with Henry in Johannesburg and then again on day 16 at the Historic Bike Museum in Deneysville. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised how accommodating and friendly he was as well as his good sense of humour, which made me feel like we’ve been mates for years.

Henry’s passion for riding and knowledge of motorcycles puts him in a league of his own. His aim is to share his enthusiasm for riding in general, wiping away any cultural clichés about motorcyclists.

World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides, South Africa, Series 2

Day 1: Johannesburg

Day2: Johannesburg to Dullstroom

Day 3: Dullstroom to Graskop

Day 4; Graskop to Moholoholo Game reserve

Day 5: Moholoholo

Day 6: Moholoholo Game reserve to Barberton

Day 7: Barberton to Mlilwane Wildlife sanctuary (Swaziland)

Day 8: Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary to Nkonyeni Estate (Swaziland)

Day 9: Nkonyeni Estate to Rhino River Lodge

Day 10: Rhino River Lodge

Day 11: Rhino River Lodge to Rorke’s Drift

Day 12: Rorke’s Drift to Mandela Capture site

Day 13: Mandela capture site to Little Switzerland

Day 14: Little Switzerland to Golden Gate National Park

Day 15: Golden Gate National Park to Lions Rock 4 Paws (Bethlehem)

Day 16: Lions Rock 4 Paws (Bethlehem) to Vaaldam

Day 17: Vaaldam to Soweto

For those of you who followed the last season through South Africa, you’ll know that Henry and his crew aged a few years in a couple of days. One would have thought that they would be hesitant or reluctant to return here to do another show after their spell of bad luck the last time around.
