After 2 decades of Yamaha R series bikes being in existence, they have created quite a name and reputation for themselves. So adding a 300 to this lineup that bears the R badge and, even more, is dressed up in the bodywork to match it’s bigger brothers is quite a statement to live up to.

It’s a bit like a hot-hatch but a lot cheaper, passes said hot-hatch in traffic and only has two wheels. It rapidly sneaks around town unassumingly, passing cars wherever the opportunity arises and more importantly passing almost every fuel station without needing to stop for a beverage. Butwhy’s this one better than the last generation? Well, most obviously it’s got radically new styling and gorgeous bodywork. It can sit side by side the current R1 and R6 without you really noticing that it’s missing a few CC’s on them.
