With the T4 being on the road for over twenty years now and so many builds heavily documented on social media and forums. It’s hard to create something that is actually unique
Something that is different, stands out from the crowd, and most importantly is actually still good! That last point could be down to personal taste, but it’s safe to say that Glyn Busby's van appeals to the masses.
Glyn is a seasoned dubber “I’ve been into VWs for about twenty seven years now! I built my first one when I was about nineteen. My mate had a Beetle and we used to go to local shows, when I passed my test I bought a Golf and ended up modifying that.” Since that first Golf, over the years Glyn has had a variety of vehicles, including MK1 / MK2 / MK3 Golf GTIs, an Audi Quattro turbo, an S2 Quattro turbo and a 71’ single cab Bay pick up running an Alfa engine. If you haven’t got the idea yet I will let Glyn explain, “I’m a bit of a speed freak and also have a GSXR now, I watch a lot of Rugby, I used to play but have quite a few bits of metal in my body from falling off motorcycles… That’s slowed me down a bit, but I watch my daughter play now, she plays for Sussex at county level. At fifteen she has a bright future ahead of her in the sport, I’m very proud of what she has accomplished so far!”
Glyn has been able to spend a lot of quality time away with his daughter in the van, “we circled the country going to shows together last year, she has loved it and is always the first to pick up a cloth before the show and shine..” They haven’t been just confined to our boarders though, “In 2016 we toured through France down to Southern Spain, my partner, three teenagers and myself. Seeing fellow V-Dub’s touring in Spain and getting a huge grin and a wave was awesome!’
