After falling in love with the Thar half a decade ago, Vrishali brings her brand new Thar back to the tracks where this love affair started

MEET VRISHALI, A FRIEND OF EVO INDIA’S. A really, really good friend. A designer by profession, she was an integral part of the team that got this very magazine up and running eight years ago — refining the design templates and creating the style sheets that set a new benchmark in Indian automotive publishing. Over the years she has remained involved with this magazine as designer emeritus, sharing her incredible depth of knowledge and of course design skills with us. A graduate of JJ School of Art and NID, Ahmedabad, she has co-founded the multi-disciplinary design studio called Therefore Design that, a few years ago, won the prestigious Red Dot award for a line of tableware. All very cool, but the coolest thing about Vrishali has to be the fact that she owns a Mahindra Thar.

And we can be credited for it!

Her love for the Thar started when we took the entire Therefore Design crew on a camp out to the Mahindra Off-Road Academy in Igatpuri, six years ago. In addition to getting muddy from head to toe, the lead instructor Manish Sarser also demonstrated the crawl — essentially allowing the Thar to crawl in first gear in 4-low, while walking alongside it with no one in the driver’s seat. Vrishali was inside the Thar when this happened and remembers feeling a heady mixture of terror and excitement.
