For the man who has everything

The Boat Tail is the very expensive beginning to Rolls-Royce’s new Coachbuild programme
KARAN SINGH
For the man who has everything

FOR MOST, A ROLLS-ROYCE IS THE pinnacle of luxury, of craftsmanship. There’s no better way to say “I’ve made it” than turning up to your kid’s soccer practice in a Phantom. And at a base price of over ₹9 crore, there’s almost no way to get a new Phantom without actually making it. But what if even that isn’t enough? Well, Rolls-Royce did showcase an example of what that lust for the ultimate RR would look like with the one-offSweptail. It turns out, that caused its other prestigious (read: wealthy) clients to run at them with spades and ask for their own bespoke Rolls. And with a rich history of never saying no to a customer’s request came the new Coachbuild division — a dedicated programme for customers that want something truly unique — and the first fruit of that programme is the Boat Tail.
