US-headquartered West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., a global leader in innovative solutions for injectable drug administration, recently named Stewart Campbell as the Vice President & General Manager for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Following this announcement, BioSpectrum Asia reached out to Campbell who is based out of Singapore to find out how he plans to continue establishing the company’s leading position within the APAC region amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Edited excerpts;

What are the major plans lined up to enhance the APAC business?

The impact of COVID-19 has been severe not only in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region but across the world. Many countries and regions are still grappling with this problem both in terms of the immediate and medium to long term. Since West comes under essential services, our plants around the world continue to operate largely to schedule to meet the requirements of our clients. Our immediate priority is to maintain the ability to support healthcare systems around the world through undisrupted manufacturing and supply of our products. The strong tenants of our market-led strategy and globalization of the manufacturing network are contributing to the resiliency of West’s business in today’s climate. The growth trends we have experienced throughout 2019 have continued in the first quarter and the outlook for the balance of the year remains positive.
