Italian jewellery design forecaster Federica Imperiali tells BlackBook what’s in vogue this festive season and how the Indian consumer has evolved.
A year after studying significant, global magazines, fashion, cinema and art trends, Forevermark has forecasted four design trends for the upcoming festive season — Think Pink and Garden of Wonder for Spring Summer and Time Capsule and Game of Shapes for Autumn Winter.
Think Pink gives the traditional, feminine hue a new lease of life, re-packaging pink as a colour of empowerment, says Imperiali. Rose gold settings bring warmth to jewellery designs and contrast richly with fire-filled diamonds. It supports the creation of fashion-inspired looks including stacks of slimline bangles, rings, layered chains and mix-and-match earrings. “Think Pink encourages the creation of singular jewellery statements, both concerning the materials used and the way jewellery is worn,” adds Imperiali.
Garden of Wonder explores the relationship between women and nature and references from a garden, also, defining personality archetypes. For instance, the red of the Popeye flower is for bold and confident women. “Looking for a metaphor to convey the complexity of diamonds was no simple task,” says Imperiali. “But we found the perfect parallel in the concept of gardens, which are enchanting, resilient and energetic. Like diamonds, gardens epitomise nature at its most entrancing”.
The Time Capsule acknowledges the role played by our yesterday to shape our today. The collection borrows from the Grecian temples and the curves of Roman urns, replicated in metalwork that holds precious diamonds.
