APRIL 15, 2019 was a red-letter day for the education sector and schools. The REX-Karmaveer #EducationChangeChampion #ECC Awards was launched for schools promoting character-rooted education to make children better human beings, citizens and leaders.
Powered by REX-KarmaveerGlobal-Fellowship and KarmaveerChakra Awards, instituted by the International-Confederation-Of NGO-(iCONGO) in partnership with the United-Nations-(UN), (which advocates quality education in its Sustainable-DevelopmentGoals-SDGs), these awards are truly by, of and for educationalists and a tribute to the People-President and Life-Teacher, Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, who offered to be the ambassador for this initiative.
Led by educationalist Eitu Vij Chopra, who in her opening remarks said, “Children are born with superpowers and gifts. We as parents, teachers and schools must help children unbox their gifts/heroic potential by unleashing their minds, character and competence to be conscious global citizens, who make positive contributions”, the awards had guidance of eminent educationalists in the #ECC-Learning-Circle. Co-chaired by Aditi Mishra (Principal, DPSGurugram) and globally renowned education-reformer, Mark Parkinson, other circle-members included #EducationChangeChampions and School-Principals like Dipinder Kaur, Faiqa Saulat Khan, Madhu Bhatnagar, Maya Norula, Seema Sablok, Anil Puri, Anurag Nirbhaya, Nishant Sharma and Rakshit Tandon. They worked from March 2018 to form diligent guiding-principles for a credible awards initiative by researching and nominating several hundred #EducationChangeChampion schools from across India. Our aim was to award 100 worthy schools. We shortlisted 75 and awarded 68 Founder Torchbearer Schools. Awards are strictly not given in absentia.
