AS THE NEED for ESG (environment, social, governance) becomes centre stage for India’s corporate sector and the overall economy, individuals efforts are playing an important role towards driving the latter. The social impact professionals of today are going beyond individual efforts to mobilise a larger movement by including other national and local institutions and industries.
BW Disrupt’s debut Social Impact Award recognises these efforts of India’s social impact leaders and change-makers. A social welfare initiative, BW Social Impact, brought together social welfare professionals and organisation in the domains of education, healthcare, senior citizens, environment, animal rights, human rights, gender equality, women empowerment and more.
The platform brings to light inspirational efforts and the people behind them who are working to address several societal need gaps, in the process impacting the lives of many.
Conceptualised as a ‘people’ award, BW Social recognises the impact people are making either by volunteering, setting up a foundation, or by working for corporate social responsibility roles in larger corporates.
JURY LED
The Social Impact 2022 awards included a three-stage process before arriving at the final winners. In the first stage, BW Disrupt and BW Businessworld reached out to over 500 individuals that fit the description of social impact entrepreneurs and professionals.
