Modern India is urbanising faster than ever before, and much of the country’s future economic growth is predicated on rising industrialisation. The conceptualisation of Mahindra Lifespaces’ Industrial Cities & Industrial Clusters (IC & IC) is based on the intent to fuel India’s ambition of becoming a global manufacturing and services hub by developing integrated business cities (Mahindra World City) and industrial clusters (Origins by Mahindra) that attract investments, create jobs, generate exports, and empower local communities. These planned industrial developments are already the chosen business destinations of over 175 companies from more than 20 countries; and have created direct and indirect employment for nearly 190, 000 persons till date.
The Mahindra World Cities and Origins developments bolster ease of doing business by way of plug-n-play infrastructure; professional operations and maintenance services; doorstep customs clearance; clear land titles; JV with state governments; faster approvals and clearances; and sustainability initiatives encompassing carbon neutrality, water security, zero waste to landfill, and safe and inclusive workplaces. Moreover, these developments are located on high-growth corridors and offer proximity to national highways, international airports, industrial corridors, and seaports.
In an exclusive interview, Rajaram Pai, Chief Business Officer – Industrial, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited, gives us an detailed insight into the framework for the design and planning of this integrated city, its design language and its state-of-art operational strategies.
