Nespresso upbeat about premium portioned coffee in Indonesia

Premium portioned coffee brand Nespresso recently opened its first boutique store in Indonesia, and it has done so in style. The store is located in a prestigious and sought-after location on the first level of Plaza Indonesia where premium brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel are also residing. The store, which offers first-hand experience in tasting Nespresso coffee, boasts sustainability as the boutique theme. The company, which was founded in 1986, now operates more than 750 boutiques in 80 countries. For its product distribution in Indonesia, Nestle Nespresso is cooperating with Indonesian retail Kanmo Group. The group operates brands such as Coach, Mothercare, Havaianas and Karen Millen. Nespresso sees Indonesia as one of the most promising markets to work in, considering the size of the emerging and affluent middle class, one of the largest in the world, and its robust and growing coffee culture.

“Probably Indonesia is the most promising, we don’t open new markets very often, but Indonesia in particular is an important market for us,” Renaud Tinel, head of Asia for Nespresso says.
