A Keyboard That Thinks For A Change!

Necessity is the genesis of genius. unsurprisingly then, some of the most innovative businesses have been established when the founder felt the need to alleviate a personal issue or one faced by someone known. needing a solution firsthand, followed by discovering a market for the solution conceptualized, has led to establishment of several successful businesses including Keypoint technologies focused on improving text input experience through a combination of ergonomics, linguistics and technology.

The Story

The story of Keypoint is an inspiring one. One of the founders of the company – Sanjay patel – wanted to help his brother use a keyboard again after he lost an arm in a motorcycle accident. to meet this end, Sanjay began working on improved keyboard ergonomics and better input experience. During this time, he discovered the unbridled opportunities of improving user experiences (especially with respect to text input) through linguistics.

Getting together with family and friends, Sanjay managed to incorporate Keypoint technologies (KPT) in glasgow in 2004, and started developing a new keyboard based on linguistic analysis. he was also able to attract external investors and also a technical co-founder in Sunil motaparti in 2006. Subsequently, they evolved the product to be more software-centric, dynamic and focused on mobile devices where the constrained form factors of the devices made text input and uX even harder.

In the year 2010, after raising two rounds of funding, Sanjay exited the company and Sunil continued to develop further and deliver. today, with offices in glasgow, hyderabad, tokyo and San Jose, KPT carries on with the legacy of combining linguistics and computing technology to improve text input and general user experience across all types of connected devices.
