The Art of Jewellery|August 2016

Sunayana Jain, Creative head, Adore Jewels, Jaipur makes a statement with her jewellery pieces that capture the beauty of everything around us. She speaks to AoJ's Praveer Sinha about her journey, design philosophy and penchant for creating bejewelled wonders..

Old World Charm and Contemporary Elegance

Sunayana Jain is a name synonymous to the sparkling world of exquisite jewellery. Hailing from Jaipur – the city of gems, she was creative from a very young age and nothing inspired her more than art and design. Passionate about jewellery designing and fascinated by the Indian vintage jewellery, she joined the very first batch of jewellery course JPDC in Jaipur, 18 years ago. After graduating, she spent three years working as a designer with Amrapali, Jaipur and developed her flair for design to create something unique and wonderful. Expressing her love for jewellery, she says, “Jewellery is like a prayer for me. A divine connection and it can never be an element of fashion.”

Design inspiration

Sunayana explains that she found inspiration from India’s rich history and heritage, mythology and the Rajasthani culture. “Many visual details and experiences influence my work especially India’s rich history and heritage, mythology and the Rajasthani culture. I never look around for trends in the market. I believe in listening to my inner voice and work accordingly. I feel that there is no limit in getting  ideas. Mostly, I get inspired from everything around me.”
