JITESH PILLAAI HAS A TETE-A-TETE WITH THE DABANGG GIRL, SONAKSHI SINHA, WHO IS ALL SET TO MAKE HER OTT DEBUT
JITESH PILLAAI
DARINGLY Different

There’s something about Sonakshi that’s hard to define. When she made her debut with Dabangg (2010), her oomph factor was lauded by all. With Lootera (2013), she convinced people that there was more to her than raw sex appeal. And Akira (2016) showed the world she could do hardcore action as well. She has been fighting the preconceived notion that an actress needs to have a size-zero figure in order to survive. While some love her earth goddess figure, naysayers have been nasty about it as well. She’s taken it all in her stride, be it the allegations of nepotism or the criticism of being extra plump. And has carved a career which is made up of interesting choices. Excerpts from a heart-to-heart chat with the firebrand actress

CAN YOU TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR DEBUT WEB SERIES FALLEN?

I was in a situation where nothing was exciting me in terms of content and scripts. And then something came along that shook me up.That’s when Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar came and narrated their new concept about a series. The minute I heard it, I told them I was on board. That’s how it came together. I am so happy with the decision because as an actor it was a wonderful experience doing something so drastically different after such a long time. It enriched me and I really enjoyed it.
