Soha Ali Khan is in the third trimester of her pregnancy. The halo of happiness around her is unmistakable. Husband Kunal Kemmu and she will turn parents by late September. Although she’s going about her usual life that includes work and socialising with family and friends, there’s definitely a new routine, a new rhythm into her life. Pampered by a loving family, Soha is enjoying the indulgence. But where fitness is concerned, she’s a diligent mother-to-be. From eating right and resting adequately to practising yoga and forging an intangible bond with the baby, Soha, as she dubs it, is enjoying the ‘baby building’ experience. Soha Ali Khan gives a first person account of her pregnancy.

I believe this is a natural culmination of the commitment and bond that Kunal and I share. It’s a miracle to be able to create life within you. It took a while for the news to sink in. At first, there was a kind of paralysing shock and then a surge of both excitement and fear about all that lay ahead. It helps when you have an equally excited and nervous partner and a super supportive family. I couldn’t wait to share the news with them, especially my mother (Sharmila Tagore) and my mother-in-law (Jyoti Kemmu).
