RAGHUVENDRA SINGH in conversation with the livewire debutante NIDHI AGERWAL who won hosannas for her turn in Munna Michael

Nidhi Agerwal is the latest debutante in Hindi films. She’s passed a series of tests and auditions to be cast as Tiger Shroff’s heroine in Munna Michael. While her big break may have come out of the blue, Nidhi was always prepared for a career at the movies. She always wanted to be an actor. With rare confidence she declares, “I was born to be an actor. I’ve never worked on a TV commercial, I’d never been on a film set before Munna Michael. I landed on the set first day and we had to shoot the introductory song. I got over my initial cold feet in a matter of minutes.” The composure comes from years and years of biding time. She had an unusual source of inspiration though. She reveals, “The TV in our house used to be on 24 x 7. I used to watch it all the time. At one point I wanted to be inside the TV. Even when I’d travel and be away from the television set, I’d dream about being an actress. I guess I was a weird child.”
