The romance of life... Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is living it fully.
Hers has been a life no less fantastical than a fairy-tale. Born to superstar Anil Kapoor, her childhood was spent amidst abundance. Her debut was no less poetic. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya presented her in flowing glory. After the well-received Raanjhana, Khubsoorat and I Hate Luv Storys, she shot to limelight with the heart-wrenching Neerja, the heart-warming Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo following in quick succession. Running parallel, her rebel style outings inspired a fashion renaissance at home and even in the French boulevard.
But all this, insists Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, was not a cakewalk. She auditioned for every role. She took on patriarchy and unyielding mindsets. She fought negotiate in an industry soft on misogyny. While she’s a woman, who’s conversant with her mind, she’s also someone who heeds to her heart. At the top of her game, she chose to get married to business tycoon – Anand Ahuja. Flitting three cities – Delhi, Mumbai and London – she’s enjoying this honeymoon, their work lives having postponed the getaway so far. Once back, she will plunge The Zoya Factor. Straddling continents and identities… Sonam to storybooks. They can be played out in broad daylight too…
