Her recent bikini pictures reminded us of Ursula Andress from Doctor No. Looking like a veritable sea nymph, she flaunted her pilates-toned figure in all its glory and made temperatures soar high on the scenic Positano beach. She’s surely got a stunning figure and a face to match. But there is more to Vaani Kapoor than being a Hellenic beauty. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have got a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films. She made us sit back and notice her histrionics in her debut film Shuddh Desi Romance, and vowed us with her sassiness in Befikre. In the superhit War, she plays the bombshell all set to distract our minds away from the macho bromance brewing between Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. And looking at the social media frenzy surrounding her complicitous photos, she’s certainly won the battle. Presenting excerpts from a candid chat with the beautiful diva, who’s set ablaze the path to success...
What made you take such a long break after Befikre?
I’m choosy. I was offered a few scripts. But I felt something was amiss in them. I didn’t feel passionate about them. I’ve been like this both in my professional and personal life. Even where friends are concerned, there are just a handful of whom I welcome in my life. They know me inside out. I’m quality-oriented rather than quantity oriented. It’s not like I am some megastar, who has lots of scripts to choose from. Nevertheless, I thought it was better I wait for something interesting to come along.
What appealed to you about War, despite it being toplined by two male stars?
