It needs immediate treatment. Waiting too long could mean the cancer will spread to surrounding tissues, which would require invasive surgery, scarring his face forever.&rdquo;</p><div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p>Another doctor believes Rod&rsquo;s face already shows indications of radical treatment.</p><p>&ldquo;His cheek exhibits signs of scarring from radiation,&rdquo; says longevity expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who adds Stewart&rsquo;s history of thyroid and prostate cancer clouds his future.</p><div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p>The Maggie May icon admits to having &ldquo;a touch&rdquo; of thyroid cancer. More troubling, he endured three months of &ldquo;intensive radiation&rdquo; treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer in 2016 after a malignant tumor could not be removed surgically.</p><p><img src="https://magztertemp.s3.amazonaws.com/1368738884/1645021081/articles/62134cc93b97b/1645432117_loc.jpg" /></p><p>While that procedure was successful, Rod apparently remains at high risk for recurrence, doctors say.</p><div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p>&ldquo;His cancer had spread,&rdquo; says Mirkin. &ldquo;And once that happens, the chance of it coming back is much higher.&rdquo;</p><p><em>The doctors quoted in this article have not treated Rod Stewart.</em></p>
