1989-2018 Avicii The Mysterious Death Of A DJ

The music biz is left reeling as one of their brightest stars succumbs to his demons.

He's had the world dancing since first taking over the charts with his hit song Levels in 2011, and was quickly declared one of the greatest DJs of this generation.

But the beats came to a sudden end on April 20 when Avicii – real name Tim Bergling – tragically passed away in Muscat, Oman, aged just 28.

“I have no words,” Rita Ora, who collaborated with Avicii on Lonely Together, tweeted. “May he rest in peace. Gone too soon. I’m devastated. Heartbroken.”

While it was initially suggested that the cause of death was possibly drug or alcohol related, his family seemed to imply that he took his own life in a statement they released on April 26 (see right).
