CNN'S ratings have been torpedoed by a series of shocking sex scandals — and staffers are now terrified bigwigs will clean house to right the sinking ship, sources snitched.
Just a year ago, the network was on top of the cable TV heap, but sex harassment accusations against nowfired prime-time poster boy Chris Cuomo, senior producer John Griffin's arrest on child sex trafficking charges and another producer being branded a twisted kinkster knocked CNN off its pedestal!
By last December, the troubled network trailed behind rivals FOX News and MSNBC and averaged a paltry 585,000 viewers in prime time, putting it in 17th place among all basic cable channels!
Cuomo, 51, denied the harassment allegations that caused him to be kicked to the curb. But less than a week after he was axed, Griffin — who said he'd worked "shoulder-to-shoulder" with Cuomo on CNN's "New Day" was arrested by the FBI and later indicted for "attempting to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity."
