For years, Coleen Rooney has played second fiddle to her husband Wayne, and has been accused of being a doormat for staying with the former footballer after his many infidelities.
But with the release of the Amazon documentary Rooney last week, the world finally got to hear Coleen’s side of the story and see what a powerhouse she really is. Rooney shows that it’s Coleen’s strength of character and determination that have kept the family together.
Coleen and Wayne put on a united front at the premiere of the film in Manchester, where they were both all smiles for the cameras. And later – alongside a happy snap of herself and Wayne – Coleen hit back at naysayers.
“I am who I am...he is who he is....we are what we are and that’s that!!! Life is for living, life goes on, life is not perfect at all and you know that....it’s our life no one else’s. God bless,” she shared on Instagram.
In the film, Coleen and Wayne opened up for the first time about the impact his indiscretions have had on their relationship. While the mum-of-four admits she’s forgiven Wayne, she said, “It’s not acceptable what he’s done but it’s happened and that was the stage of life we were in at the time. But we’ve moved on.” And although she was livid when it happened, Coleen, 35, admitted that this feeling has faded, saying,“I haven’t got the anger that I did at the time.”
