Reese Witherspoon - 'I'm Owing It'

The Oscar-winning actress is back with another screen smash – and working with her bestie, too!

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston reuniting on screen again for the first time in 19 years?! That’s right, Christmas has come early for Friends fans.

The stars join forces in the new Apple TV+ drama Morning Wars, which sees the pair go head to head as rival co-anchors in the cutthroat world of morning TV, alongside co-star Steve Carell.

Here, Reese, 43 – who also starred in (and co-created) the second season of Big Little Lies this year – dishes on what’s sure to be our new favourite show, being on set with Jen, 50, and staying on top in Hollywood…

What was it like working with Jennifer again?

Amazing! She was a big part of why I ended up doing [Morning Wars], and we’ve both been a part of getting the project going from the beginning.

Apart from Friends, have you had the opportunity to work with her before this new series?

We talked about doing a movie about 10 years ago, but we never got a handle on what we wanted to do. Then this emerged and it was kind of perfect.

You and Jen play warring journalists in the series. What was it like going from being friends to shooting those tense scenes together?

It was actually great because there is this level of trust between us. I’m like, ‘Anything you need from me, I’m here for you. I got you. Hey, let me know if there’s anything I can do different.’

Do you really enjoy being able to partner up with other actresses on screen?

It’s so great. I’ve had so much success with female partnerships. I think it speaks to the power of female friendship. We’re better together.
