SWINGING FROM THE GREATEST SHOWMAN TO SPIDER-MAN, THE TALENTED STAR IS THE TALK OF TINSELTOWN

Life is one big thrill ride for Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman. The former child star is growing up in the limelight and continues to be Hollywood’s top teen on screen.

Right now, the 22-year-old has reprised her role as intelligent student Michelle Jones ‘MJ’ in Marvel’s latest flick Spider-Man: Far From Home – her first blockbuster since her star turn in The Greatest Showman alongside Hugh Jackman.

Far From Home is the second film in a new series of Spider-Man spectaculars, with the story centring on Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Michelle’s high school trip to Europe – where Spider-Man takes on new threats.

Zendaya also plays a teen in HBO’s new gritty drama series Euphoria, but she couldn’t be more different to academic overachiever MJ. The actress stars as Rue Bennett, a recovering drug addict who begins her final year at a high school where drugs, sex and social media wreak havoc with young lives. While Zendaya stresses she hasn’t dealt with addiction directly, and most of the issues her character experiences firsthand, the show still resonates with her because she’s helped friends who were dealing with things. She feels the series paints ‘a raw and honest portrait of addiction’ and hopes it sheds light on the issues that teens face on a daily basis.

Here, Zendaya talks getting back into the swing of things with Spidey, the huge highs of her Greatest Showman success, those Tom Holland dating rumours – and how she’d rather be seen as a role model than a movie star.
