In the past year alone, Meghan has found motherhood a “struggle” in the spotlight, Harry has faced harsh criticism over quitting his royal duties and they’ve both experienced the upheaval of upping sticks to the US with their one-year-old son Archie.
But despite the various hurdles, their relationship appears to be as strong as ever. That’s good news for the couple – considering research carried out by the University of Texas. Their results suggest that the first two years of marriage are critical in determining how likely you are to remain together over a decade later.
Broadcaster and psychotherapist Lucy Beresford, who often gives relationship advice on This Morning, believes Harry and Meghan are on course for long-term wedded bliss, but face a potentially tough test ahead.
She exclusively tells OK!, “It’s so important in a marriage to put the work in from day one. Harry and Meghan are both very emotionally aware people and have put a lot of emphasis on their relationship since the wedding. Their positive body language and amazing eye contact suggest they’re still in a good place as they celebrate their second wedding anniversary.”
However, although Lucy says Harry and Meghan seem to be thriving in their “own little bubble”, she believes that the couple will soon have a potential dilemma on their hands.
