She’s starred on some of the most glamorous shows on TV in the past 20 years, presenting Top Of The Pops in the late nineties and The X Factor in the early noughties, but Kate Thornton has admitted that lockdown has had a big effect on her work attire.
“I’ve been filming TV shows looking like business from the waist up and then if I stood up, you’d see pyjama bottoms,” she laughs. “Today I popped out with heels on for a meeting, when I came back, the heels came off and I had a cramp. My feet are like, ‘What the hell are you doing to us, making us go on stilts?’ The bra came off, the tracksuit went on. When you wear normal clothes now, it’s disconcerting!” she adds.
During the lockdown, Kate, 47, has continued recording her hit podcast, White Wine Question Time, where she speaks to celebrity guests about their glittering careers over a few glasses of wine.
Here, the star – who’s mum to 12-year-old son Ben with ex-partner Darren Emerson – tells OK! about what happens behind the scenes on her podcast and why she won’t be putting a bet on either of her friends, Denise Van Outen and Myleene Klass, winning this year’s Dancing On Ice…
