It’s a been a long time coming, so fans were delighted when Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash announced they were finally engaged after Joe popped the question just before Christmas.

Posting an image of the huge diamond sparkler on her Instagram, Stacey, 31, appeared overcome with emotion as she told her followers, “He asked me to marry him and after crying for what felt like a very long time… I said yes.”

Adding a personal message to Joe, 38, she said, “To the moon and back bub. I have no words.”

Detailing the adorable proposal that had taken place during a family stroll in the woods with her two boys Leighton, eight, Zachary, 12, and their 19-month-old son Rex, Stacey explained, “Sorry for the radio silence. I had everything planned ready to go. I knew exactly what I was doing. And then...

“Today we went for a walk in the woods... Like we always do. But it didn’t look the same – actually full-on blubbering as I write this...

“And Joe with our boys, in my favourite place in the world... He asked me to marry him.”

Revealing the significance of the location, which Joe had decorated with white flowers, she told her followers, “It’s my happy place. I lose myself and breathe in every second of it because to me it’s just what life is about.”
