There’s no one better to inject some fun into your day than Gino D’Acampo. With his cheeky personality and effortless charm, it’s little wonder the Italian chef regularly has us in fits of giggles. The notoriously mischievous 44-year-old assures us, however, that he won’t be bringing his potty mouth to his hosting duties for the new series of Family Fortunes, which is returning to our screens after 18 years.
Gino, who lives with his family in the UK, spent lockdown at his stunning second home in Sardinia, where he tell us, “I was kept busy in the vineyard and looking after the animals and the lake.” He also got in some practice for his new gig, trying out his presenting skills on his wife Jessica and their children Luciano, 18, Rocco, 15, and eight-year-old Mia.
Here, Gino tells us his thoughts on I’m A Celebrity, planning Fred Sirieix’s stag do and family life…
You’re the new host of Family Fortunes, but would you ever do a cooking or reality show with your own family?
Next year ITV has asked me to do a trip around Italy with my family in the spring. I will take them one by one to discover Italy the way I know it. We’re also writing a cookbook together – my wife, Luciano, Rocco and Mia all have recipes going in it.
Is your wife worried about being on camera?
