From Girls Aloud singing sensation to I’m A Celebrity favourite and now Bake Off star in the making – Nadine Coyle has had quite the career. But arguably her greatest role is that of mum to her gorgeous seven-year-old daughter, Anaíya, who she shares with former American footballer and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jason Bell.
With the new series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off For SU2C just around the corner (Nadine will be joining an all-star line up in the tent, including movie stars James McAvoy and Daisy Ridley, and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall), we joined Nadine in her home country of Northern Ireland, where she relocated just before the first lockdown.
As we catch up over a socially distanced cuppa while Anaíya cracks on with her homeschooling, Nadine is happy to address rumours that she and former fiancé Jason, who she split from in 2019, are back together – telling us he’s moved in to her family home.
Although the pair have not put a label on their relationship, and won’t confirm they’ve reunited romantically, she insists their living situation is working for them and Anaíya. “What we are doing definitely works for us,” she says. “It’s all about being supportive and being there for each other.”
Here, Nadine, 35, opens up about her unconventional living arrangements, the special bond she shares with her daughter and her unwavering support for Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding...
Hey Nadine, how have you been this past year?
