Their luxury getaways to £27,000-a-week villas in sunny Mustique and skiing trips in the French Alps appear to be a thing of the past for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as the couple now choose to spend their summer months soaking up the British sun on staycations in Norfolk, Cornwall and Scotland.
Prince William and Kate Middleton recently took their children, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, to the Isles of Scilly for the second year running.
Last year, the family stayed at Dolphin House, a property owned by Prince Charles. The residence boasts six bedrooms and is located on Tresco, a tiny island which William will one day inherit from his father. Onlookers spotted the family cycling across the island, which bans cars, and taking a boat trip out to see dolphins.
No doubt the location holds happy memories for William, as he previously holidayed in Tresco with Prince Charles, his late mother Princess Diana and brother Prince Harry in 1989.
Following their trip to the Isles of Scilly, the family are now thought to be spending time at Anmer Hall – the beautiful Georgian country mansion in Norfolk that was gifted to them as a wedding present from the Queen in 2011.
Located on Her Majesty’s Sandringham Estate, Anmer boasts 10 bedrooms and is situated within acres of green land. Speaking to OK!, royal expert and author Katie Nicholl reveals the idyllic location provides the perfect backdrop for family fun with their children.
