LORRAINE KELLY OPENS UP TO OK! ABOUT HER IMPRESSIVE TV CAREER AND HOW SHE’S COPING DURING LOCKDOWN

THE NATION'S ANCHOR: ‘I GET IMPOSTOR SYNDROME ALL THE TIME'

From GMTV to her self-titled breakfast show, viewers have been waking up to see Lorraine Kelly’s smiley face on their screens for over 35 years. And we can confirm that what you see on air is exactly what you get, as the 61-year-old is as just as warm and friendly away from the studio sofa.

Lorraine has just finished her Monday show when OK! catches up with her via Zoom. She tells us that while she’s been doing her job for decades, she never takes it for granted and still has moments where she has to pinch herself.

“I meet such interesting people from all walks of life,” she tells us, “from the fun and the silly to the really serious.”

Lorraine’s ongoing, upbeat presence on TV has given the nation some much-needed normality amid the pandemic. But like the rest of us, she admits there are times she’s felt “overwhelmed” and “anxious”. She says she has husband Steve Smith, their daughter Rosie, 26, and her beloved border terrier, Angus, to thank for keeping her spirits up.

Here, Lorraine opens up about lockdown, the courage of her friend Kate Garraway, working with Piers Morgan and why she feels better than ever in her sixties…

Hi Lorraine. How have you found being in lockdown?
