After meeting at the University of St Andrews back in 2001, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set for a poignant trip down memory lane as they embark on a seven-day tour of Scotland this week.
The pair – who recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary – will visit Edinburgh, Fife and the Orkney Isles during their stay but will also pay a visit to their old university, where their friendship first blossomed into romance.
“The visit back to St Andrews will be very nostalgic for Kate and William,” royal expert and author of Kate: The Future Queen, Katie Nicholl, tells OK!. “They will be absolutely thrilled to be going back to the place where they met and fell in love. It’s a really special place for them. They have gone back for reunions over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a wonderful bubble for them where they could escape the world.”
Days earlier, Kate drew on her art history degree from the prestigious university when she stepped out solo for a visit to the Victoria And Albert Museum in London.
