The Queen looked sombre and frail last week as she carried out her first in-person engagement since the funeral of her husband, Prince Philip, on 17 April.
The monarch, 95, attended the State Opening of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster on 11 May. The visit, which was pared back in line with current Covid-19 restrictions, was the Queen’s first public appearance since her husband of 73 years passed away, aged 99.
She was joined by her eldest son, Prince Charles, 72, and his wife, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, 73, for the event. Charles tenderly held his beloved mother’s hand while leading her into the ceremony in a moving display of support.
