Since becoming a mum to Cree and step-mum to husband Rio’s three children, former TOWIE star Kate Ferdinand says that Christmases are all the more exciting. The 30-year-old, who married football pundit
Rio, 43, in 2019, tells OK! her favourite festive memories revolve around the kids these days.
“Since I’ve met Rio and the children, I’ve just loved Christmas as it’s so fun,” she explains. “Just all being together and seeing the kids’ faces full of excitement.”
This year, Kate will be spending the big day at home with her husband, their one-year-old son Cree and Rio’s children, Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 10.
And since the couple welcomed their first child together just before Christmas last year, Kate is looking forward to being able to get more into the festive spirit this time around.
Here, Kate opens up about family plans, time-saving Christmas hacks and her New Year’s resolutions…
Hi Kate. Are you excited for Christmas?
I love Christmas, I start feeling festive around the last week of November, so I’m really excited. It’s only once a year, so it’s nice to make it go on for as long as possible.
Are the children looking forward to Christmas as well?
Yeah. It’s really lovely having children around at Christmas time as they get really excited about it all.
Where will you be celebrating this year?
We’ll be at home, probably relaxing in our pyjamas! We may have some parents over. To be honest, we haven’t sorted it but people will probably pop in and out – if Boris [Johnson] allows us to! It’s hard to make plans, we’re going to play it by ear.
You gave birth to Cree shortly before Christmas last year. Will this year be a bit more relaxed?
