The call to return to the soap was happy news for his portrayer, Sean Kanan. “Coming in through the gate at CBS Television City, I just had the biggest smile on my face,” he relays. “It was like coming home. Any time I get a call to come back, I was always happy to accept. It’s been a while since we last saw Deacon, so it’s going to be fun to see how he’s changed from that experience.”
Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, Deacon crosses paths with Sheila at Il Giardino. “It just makes sense, doesn’t it,” muses Kimberlin Brown (Sheila). “They have a lot to talk about. When I first heard about Sheila and Deacon joining forces, I thought, ‘This is great!’ They have a lot in common. They have both made mistakes they regret. They have both been ostracized by the Forresters, but the most important thing they share is that they both have children they love and would love to bond with and never got the chance to — and now they both have grandchildren that they want to know and spend time with. It’s a natural instinct, and yet, again, there are the Forresters trying to prevent that. It only makes sense that they would team up.”
