Murder, She Wrote
Season 1 weekdays (from 6 September) SABC2 (*192) 14:00
If you’re an’80s or ’90s child, chances are you still remember the deceivingly cheerful theme song for the hit series Murder, She Wrote (1984-1996). With 264 episodes and four TV movies over a span of 19 years, Cabot Cove mystery writer and crime solver Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury, the balloon lady in the family movie Mary Poppins Returns, 2018) has seen every creative form of murder imaginable. But aside from bringing us a scandalous murder each week, Cabot Cove also helped a number of well-known modern-day actors get their foot in the Hollywood door.
GEORGE CLOONEY
S1E2 Birds Of A Feather (1984) and S3E18 No Laughing Murder (1988)
When George’s chiselled face shows up as an uncredited waiter, he is still a nobody in the acting world. But four years later, in 1988, he returns to Cabot Cove as Kip Howard, a foolishly in love man surrounded by murder and mystery for Jessica to solve.
You know him as: Danny Ocean in the Ocean’s movies (2001-2018).
CAITLYN JENNER
S1E16 Sudden Death (1985)
