One of the world&rsquo;s highest paid tennis players,&nbsp;Roger&nbsp;Federer&nbsp;was born in Switzerland on August 8, 1981. Ever since he was a young boy, his Swiss father, Robert&nbsp;Federer, and South African mother, Lynette Du Rand, encouraged him to play. They were his constant support and encouragement and this paid when at the age of 14,&nbsp;Federer&nbsp;became the national junior tennis champion in Switzerland. He joined the junior tennis circuit in 1996, and won the junior Wimbledon title in 1998 before turning pro at the young age of 18.Federer&#39;s&nbsp;first giant success came in 2003, when he won his first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, he was all of 21 years at that time! In majors, he has won a record eight Wimbledon titles, five Australian Open titles, a record five consecutive US Open titles and one French Open title.&nbsp;Federer&nbsp;is said to have helped to lead a revival in tennis which is often termed as the Golden Age.
