Honey, I shrunk the camera
The Ricoh GR III is the third model in Ricoh’s GR compact camera line-up to sport a relatively large APS-C sensor. This should give it the same kind of image quality as a mirrorless camera or a DSLR in a much smaller size.
The body feels solid and grippy. The shutter release button is large, all buttons press positively into the body, and the mode dial moves easily once you release its safety catch. A well-placed lever allows for quick adjustment of key options such as focus, metering mode, and so on. You can change lots of settings from the 3in LCD touchscreen, which is sharp and responsive. There’s a dial around the menu pad so you can quickly navigate menus or speed through images. There’s no viewfinder or built-in flash, but the hotshoe lets you mount your own.
