Unstoppable series requires bottomless hard drive

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition

'' FINAL FANTASY for fans and first timers” is the message you’re shown every time you start up the game, and it’s a heartening statement to see when approaching a series that has had a troubled relationship with the PC in the past, with some pretty terrible ports. Crimes have included mobile versions of games uprezzed to 4K, while games made for PS3 that should have run at 1080p were locked at 720p.

All that has changed, however, because Square’s never-ending series has finally embraced the PC and everything it can do. It’s a game that can look stunning, and which can bring even the beefiest rig to its knees with a few tweaks to the settings.
