The countdown has begun to two of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire’s biggest events as town meets country for great days out
THERE’S A buzz of excitement as the final details are put to some great days out for people of all ages. The Newbury & District Agricultural Society is overseeing The Royal County of Berkshire Show, taking place on 16 and 17 September at the Newbury Showground.
Prepare for a feast of entertainment and attractions over the two days, with fun ‘have a-go’ activities for all the family as well as spectacular shows and stunts and, of course, the best livestock from around the UK on show.
This year sees the return of the Devil’s Horseman; a team of riders who perform breath-taking, high energy acrobatics on horseback. Tearing along at full gallop, the rider will be hanging at impossible angles from its back or standing from the saddle.
The show is also welcoming back the Shetland Grand National, last appearing in 2015, with high-speed dashes, a flurry of coloured silks and flying manes all condensed on pint-sized Shetland ponies!
