Whether you’re the mother-of-the-bride or groom, or simply a wedding guest, months can go into finding the right outfit for that special day. With re-scheduling of weddings due to coronavirus, many have found their outfits may need some adapting. Not only that, but the shopping experience is different as boutiques adapt to a new way of serving customers.
Like many high-end boutiques, Steve Taylor, owner of Fab Frocks in Westbourne, has introduced an appointment system as well as offering hand sanitiser, face masks, sanitising changing rooms between each customer and a quarantine for clothes which have been tried on.
“Customers have been positive about the new procedures in place,” says Steve, who also runs a shop online version of his award-winning business. “They have appreciated the appointment facility and the limitations on numbers in the boutique.”
Despite the temporary pause on celebrations, Fab Frocks has seen a rise in demand for cooler colours. “Light taupe, silver, navy and white are selling really well,” says Steve. “Our Condici collection continues to be a strong favourite, alongside midi dresses from Veni Infantino.
