Due to the gallery’s closure on 17 March 2020, the spring exhibitions were only open to the public for three days. Barnett Freedman: Designs for Modern Britain, Drawn to Nature: Gilbert White and the Artists and An Outbreak of Talent: Bawden, Marx, Ravilious and their Contemporaries will all reopen on 5 August 2020.
Visitors are asked to prebook for timed entry sessions and there will be a limited number of visitors in the building at one time.

ROUNTREE TRYON, PETWORTH
The Petworth gallery’s Summer Exhibition has dual themes – Equine features paintings by Marcus Hodge, Michelle McCullagh and Jo Taylor and new sculptures by Camilla Le May, Frippy Jameson and Philip Blacker.
Birds of the World includes work by Justin Prigmore, Jim Starr, David Ord Kerr and Emma Faull.

NEWLANDS HOUSE, PETWORTH
Newlands House, which opened in March 2020, is programmed by leading art world figure Simon de Pury. The gallery is releasing tickets for intimate viewings of its inaugural show, HELMUT NEWTON 100, which runs until 30 August. Timed with the late photographer’s birth centenary this year, the exhibition spans portrait, fashion, still life and landscape photography.
Tickets must be booked in advance, with six available for each hourly slot.
