DANIEL EVANS
Artistic director, Chichester Festival Theatre
I’m genuinely excited about 2020, as Chichester Festival Theatre continues to connect with our local communities in West Sussex as well as going international! We announce the full festival season around Valentine’s Day and I can’t wait to share what we’ve been cooking up with our audiences. In April, our production of Caroline, Or Change arrives on Broadway. A proud moment for CFT. It’s amazing to think that West Sussex will be represented out in New York. On a personal note, I’d love to see more of my sister who lives in South Wales with my nephews; I wish we lived closer to each other.
KEVIN RICHMOND
CEO, Sussex Community Foundation
I hope that 2020 will be a turning point. I hope that we will seriously address the big challenges that society faces. We know what needs to be done to address climate change at a personal, national and global level, we just need the will to make it happen. But we also need to meet growing social care needs, end in-work poverty and maintain vibrant local communities which bring people together and prevent problems before they arise. Our recent report, Sussex Uncovered, highlights these issues. We hope to inspire a new generation of philanthropists to support local charities and help change the world from the bottom up.
