THERE’S no doubt about it – cacti and succulents are the plants of the moment. Gardeners love them for their drought resistance and architectural shapes, while the increasing numbers of people who rent and have limited access to outdoor growing space favour their compact size and the fact that they don’t mind being moved. And unlike a lot of houseplants that struggle to thrive in our homes, cacti and succulents positively love the dry air and warmth created by central heating.
