Favourite blooms take a cinematic leading role in the Lusby’s romantic rose garden

Roses Steal The Scene

YEARS spent designing props for film and TV productions have ensured Louise and Keir Lusby know how to dress a scene. And that’s something that came in handy when they set about creating a beautiful garden to surround their centuries’ old cottage.

Come summer it’s a riot of roses that clad fences, arches, trees and buildings or spill out from borders, along with complementary perennials that add to the colour.

Underpinning this exuberance are various hard landscaping features, including ornate brick pathways and circular mosaics, plus architectural plants such as box spheres and umbrella-pruned trees to provide a sense of structure.
